Fast.io allows a broad range of characters for file and folder names to support various languages and formats. Here’s what’s supported and what to avoid:

Valid Characters

  • UTF-8 and UTF-8 MB4: Fast.io supports characters from the UTF-8 and UTF-8 MB4 character sets, enabling compatibility with most global language characters.

  • Accepted Character Types:

    • Letters (\p{L}): Any alphabetic character across languages.

    • Numbers (\p{N}): Any numeric character.

    • Dash (-): Allows hyphens within names.

Unsupported Characters

  • Slash (/): The forward slash cannot be used in file or folder names, as it is reserved for directory paths.

  • Case Sensitivity: File and folder names are generally case-sensitive, so "Report" and "report" would be treated as distinct.
