A Share may be limited to specific collaborators, anyone within the Organization, or anyone within a specific Workspace. This ensures that only the intended audience has access to shared content while maintaining security and control over file distribution.
Understanding how a Share functions is essential for managing access and maintaining security. The function of a Share determines if content can be uploaded or downloaded, which directly impacts collaboration and distribution. These functions ensure that the right people have the necessary level of interaction with shared content.
Shares can be created in three different modes:
Exchange β Those with the Share's URL can both upload and download content.
Receive β Those with the Share's URL can only upload content.
Send β Those with the Share's URL can only download content.
By using a Share's function and setting the appropriate Share permissions, teams can control how external collaborators interact with shared content while maintaining security and accessibility.
Additionally, each Share in a Workspace has the option to be publicly available. This means that anyone with the URL to that Share may access it and use it based on the function it was created for.
